ork Mills Station opened on March 30, 1973 as part of the Yonge line’s expansion into what would become modern North York. Built beneath the busy intersection of Yonge Street and York Mills Road, the station acts as a major transfer point, connecting residential neighbourhoods, corporate office complexes, and one of the TTC’s key commuter bus terminals. It’s a daily hub for riders heading downtown or branching out toward Don Mills, the 401 corridor, and nearby suburban routes.
The station’s design is clean and understated, with long corridors, muted tones, and a layout typical of early-1970s TTC architecture. Above ground, it links directly into the York Mills Centre and sits amongst office towers and established neighbourhoods, giving the area a blend of commuter bustle and quieter residential character.
