Wellesley station opened on March 30, 1954.
Wellesley Station is on the north side of Wellesley Street East, just east of Yonge Street. It has two levels: the street-level entrance and bus platform, and the subway platforms below. Elevators connect both levels. The station includes a Gateway Newstands and a second automatic entrance on Dundonald Street.
