St Clair 001

St Clair Station opened on March 30, 1954 as part of the original Yonge line, anchoring one of midtown’s busiest intersections. It’s a key transfer point, with both a dedicated streetcar bay for the St. Clair route and a bus bay that connects riders to nearby neighbourhoods and arterial roads. Across the street from the south entrance, there’s also an affordable public parkade, which makes the station a practical park-and-ride option for commuters heading downtown.

Inside, the station carries the clean, efficient design of the TTC’s early era, with simple concourses that guide riders smoothly between subway platforms and surface routes. Above ground, the surrounding area blends a mix of older brick buildings, modern towers, offices, and a busy retail strip—giving St Clair a lively, constantly shifting urban feel. It’s a station shaped by movement at all hours and firmly tied into the daily routines of midtown Toronto.
