Rosedale Station opened on March 30, 1954 and serves one of the most historic and residential pockets along the Yonge line. Sitting at the edge of the Rosedale Ravine, the station feels calm and green compared to much of the network—surrounded by mature trees, heritage homes, and quiet side streets. It’s a neighbourhood-oriented station, with a steady but modest flow of commuters throughout the day, many arriving on foot from the surrounding winding roads.
The station’s design is compact and functional, reflecting the TTC’s early architectural style, and its surface-level setting gives it a subtly different feel from the deeper downtown stations to the south. Just beyond the entrance, Rosedale Valley Road dips into the ravine, adding a natural backdrop unique within the system. With its blend of mid-century transit design and one of Toronto’s most scenic residential environments, Rosedale stands out as a tranquil and distinctive stop on the Yonge line.
