Osgoode 004

Osgoode Station opened on March 30, 1963 as part of the University line’s original segment, sitting right at the intersection of Queen Street West and University Avenue. Its location places it steps from some of Toronto’s most important civic and cultural institutions, including Osgoode Hall, the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, and the courthouse complex that gives the station its name. It’s a natural gateway for commuters heading to government offices, legal buildings, and the western edge of the downtown core.

The station’s design reflects early-’60s TTC architecture—clean lines, a straightforward concourse, and a centre platform that keeps movement efficient even during peak hours. Above ground, Osgoode opens directly into the lively Queen West corridor, where shops, cafés, and street-level activity contrast with the formal, historic buildings along University Avenue. The combination of legal landmarks, cultural venues, and urban energy makes Osgoode a distinctive, multifaceted stop in the heart of downtown Toronto.
