Finch Station opened on March 29, 1974 as the original northern terminus of the Yonge line, and it still carries the feel of a major gateway for commuters heading into the core. With its large bus terminal, multiple regional connections, and one of the TTC’s busiest passenger volumes, Finch serves as a daily hub for thousands coming in from North York and beyond.
Despite its heavy use, the station has its own visual character—long corridors, distinctive 1970s finishes, and wide platform spaces that create strong lines and symmetry. Outside, the mix of office towers, apartment buildings, and steady bus traffic adds to its energetic atmosphere. I’ll be continuing to photograph Finch to highlight both its scale and the quieter pockets within a station that never really slows down.
